Welcome to PIZO OPCO
The PIZOŽ process an acronym for Pig Iron and Zinc Oxide was developed by Heritage Environmental Services. After extensive research and development including the successful operation of a demonstration facility in Indiana a full scale facility was built in Blytheville Arkansas in 2008. Originally Heritage and Nucor Steel formed a joint venture operating company called PIZOŽ Operating Company LLC which in December 2011 became 100% owned by The Heritage Group.
The PIZOŽ Operating Company is overseen by a Board of Directors comprised of senior officers from Heritage. The first PIZOŽ plant commenced production in 2009 to process 50,000 tons per year of Electric Arc Furnace Dust (EAFD). The EAFD feedstock is supplied by Nucor Hickman and Nucor Yamato steel mills.
